Girls and Women Empowerment
To empower disadvantaged adolescent girls and women by providing better livelihood opportunities, promoting healthy life choices, and reducing barriers that hinder their active participation in development, education, and decision-making processes.
Target Reach
- Empowered 43,040+ women and girls through strengthened Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), providing access to capital, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship training.
- Reached 34,670 adolescent girls with sexual and reproductive health education, harmful traditional practice (HTP) prevention, and life-skills development.
Approach
We adopt a holistic empowerment strategy that combines socio-economic, educational, and health interventions. Key approaches include:
- Gender equality promotion through male/boys engagement and community awareness to challenge harmful traditional practices.
- Health and SRH services to promote informed, healthy life choices.
- Education support to ensure girls’ school attendance, retention and completion rates.
- Economic empowerment through business and financial literacy training, self-help groups (SHGs), and Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) to strengthen financial independence.
- Community and school structures strengthening to build sustainable support networks for women and girls.
- Advocacy for gender Equality and Women Empowerment.
