Quality Education

To support schools in creating child-friendly, culturally sensitive, gender-responsive, inclusive, and technologically integrated learning environments that enhance students’ academic performance, personal development and to callout their innate potential.

Target Reach
  • Enhanced 110 primary schools by creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments.
  • Constructed and renovated 470+ school facilities including classrooms, libraries, laboratories, gender-inclusive latrines, water points, and girls’ MHM rooms, benefiting 89,830+ students.
  • Digitalized and expanded ICT integration in 18 upper primary schools (Grades 7–8).
  • Enabled 26,750+ girls to remain in school through scholastic material support and advocacy against harmful traditional practices.
  • Championed the institutionalization of the Gender-Safe School Bill in Amhara Region and expanded the initiative to Sidama, Oromia, Tigray, and Afar through the Education Champion Network.
  • Implemented the Green School–Green Community Program, integrating ECDE, WASH, nutrition, and livelihoods into schools, benefiting 17,400+ students and families.
Approach

We work closely with schools, teachers, and communities to implement evidence-based strategies for quality education. This includes strengthening the school system and infrastructure including creating sustainable financial resources, teachers’ training, curriculum support, pedagogical practices and resource strengthening, digital learning integration, inclusive classroom practices, and active community engagement.
