My name is Dagmawi Samrawit, and together with my friend, we are the proud founders of Kato Enterprise. Just a short time ago, we were two unemployed young people struggling to make ends meet.

We had no stable income and no clear path for the future. That changed when we joined Education for Sustainable Development’s (ESD) Youth Skill Development and Job Creation Project. Through the program, we received life skills and business training that opened our eyes to new opportunities. The training gave us confidence, discipline, and the knowledge we needed to build something of our own.

After completing the training, ESD provided us with in-kind start-up support to launch our dream. We received the essential tools and equipment for a tire repair business, including a jack and other materials. On top of that, the organization even paid our shop rent for two months a crucial lifeline that gave us the chance to start strong without worrying about immediate expenses.
